Elementary Basketball refs are the worst I have ever seen!
I have been around bball all my life, and there is always ref issues, but the last couple of elementary seasons have beat anything I have ever seen!!! Once in a while a ref screws up a game, but the last couple years it has just been game after game after game! Calling small touch fouls and then when somebody gets leveled NO CALL!!!!!
Grassy Fork had three players injured this year!!!
One with a broken leg!
There were games this season that i wanted to put pads on our players because they were out there playing football not bball! Last time I checked bball is a NON-CONTACT SPORT!!!
It is impossible to teach the game correctly when it is called like it is! You have to teach combat bball just to play in this league!!
So then there are the teams who take advantage of the situation and play "hands on defense"!
Of course we will mention no names(we all know who they are)!!
Then to be such BAD refs , they are so cocky!!
I think that just makes it worse, you got kids on the floor and they have a smart a@# grin on their face because people are upset there was no call!!! I swear I have to show MUCH restraint to stay in the gym!
I even heard one of the refs talking to the Sheriff on duty and he said "Be ready because I am going to throw somebody out before this game is over!".
This was even before the games even started!!!UNCOOL!!!
THEN he DID throw somebody out and it was coach Valentine from Smoky, said he threw somthing onto the floor!?!
Now I don't know if you know coach, but there is no way he would throw something onto a basketball court!
It beat all I have ever seen!
Of course the cocky grin was there after he threw coach out, and the little glance at the Sheriff!!!
(By the by, just in case you dont know,Coach Valentine doesn't even coach elementary, he was just sitting in the stands) Of course he was probably disputing the terrible calls just like everyone else was!!
I have videos of most of the games and am going to put out a compilation of bad calls for every body to see!!
Well I could go on and on about this(as i already have) but I will leave it at this!
